Holiday Bible Club 2018

Our Holiday Bible Club was held in August this year.  We are delighted to tell you that we had 111 children come to Holiday Bible club over the week and  many of the parents, grandparents and carers who stayed with some of the children.  It was a wonderful opportunity to bring the word of God to these children who were very excited to hear the various stories and answer questions about people in the bible…

The Theme for the Bible stories was  ‘ Shine from the inside out ‘ and the focus was looking at people who have been transformed by God.

Paul –  Listen to Jesus and be changed
Paul, formerly known as Saul, was a persecutor of Christians. He threw them in jail or had them killed. When he encountered Jesus, Saul changed forever. God used him to do remarkable things for the early church and he wrote many books in the New Testament.
Paul was, “filled with the Holy Spirit” Acts 9:17

Zacchaeus –  Humble yourself. Put away selfish ambition and focus on the needs around you.
When Zacchaeus met Jesus, Zacchaeus realised he needed to change.
“Today salvation has come to this house… For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:9-10

Jonah – Repent and pray
Jonah was taught about the power of prayer and of God’s forgiveness.
“You are a God who is kind and shows mercy.” Jonah 4:2

David – was a man after God’s own heart. Seek the Lord God.
A Psalm of David.
138: 3 On the day I called, You answered me;
You made me bold with strength in my soul.

Friday: Personal transformation and the Gospel message

There were 3 teams and each earned points for listening, answering questions and participating in craft and games as well as good behaviour, which were added up on a points board to determine a winner at the end of the week.
